50s Day & Flipper

Well here she is in her poodle (kitty) skirt! It was a little big in the waist, but I figured it would be since the pattern was for a size 7 and I didn't want to take it in too far for fear it would be too small. Good call on the velcro though! That helped a lot.

I skipped the 50s Day celebration since Kyle had to go with me to school, but I talked to one of the parents who said it was really cute. They learned several new dances, the pony, the jitterbug (sort of) and the hand jive. They had root beer floats, a hula hoop contest and a bubble gum blowing contest. Then they all got to go outside to have a class picture taken in a red 50's era Thunderbird. What a fun way to celebrate the 50th day of school!

Last night I was getting ready to put Kyle to bed and said my usual, "I'm going to win!" trying to encourage him to race me up the stairs to his bedroom. Only, he couldn't race me. I walked around the couch to see why he had not jumped up and run to the stairs to find him in flippers! I guess he brought them in from the garage earlier in the day...

You are welcome to the hand-me-down when she outgrows it... ;-)
