Sorry Randalls, but Kroger wins!
Apparently I did not find the correct aisle when I went to the other Kroger's last week. But today, I visited the Kroger in Magnolia since I was doing a little pre-vacation shopping at the new Target shopping center (yes, I said vacation...more on that in a minute) and I am now a Kroger convert!
Not only did they have gluten-free pizza shells (you know, like Boboli but wheat-free) and the gluten-free macaroni and cheese (which my sister found at HEB last week but I have checked 2 HEBs out here and they didn't have it), but they had the egg replacer!!!! And to top it off, there were cookies too! While I don't usually make it a habit to feed my kids pizza, mac and cheese and cookies all the time this thrilled me today because Derek and I are leaving tomorrow for a quick trip and I didn't want the sitter to have to deal with too many cooking issues. So now she can make them mac and cheese one night and pizza the next night. Hooray!
Last week I got home from work on Tuesday and there was a sweet note left on the table for me along with a flight confirmation. My loving hubby surprised me with a trip to Sea Island, GA. He is going on business and I get to tag along. It looks like an amazing resort to visit. It will be a very quick trip - we leave Tuesday morning and return late Thursday evening, but any trip at this point is worth it.
While we were out shopping today, I was putting Kyle back in the car and said, "Oh, Kyle, I broke my nail." And he responded with, "That's okay Mommy, when we get home, we'll go upstairs to my bedroom and I'll fix it in no time. I have tools like Handy Manny, but my tools don't talk." Then he paused and said, "I'll use my screwdriver and we'll get it fixed up right away." What a sweetheart!

Enjoy your trip!
Glad to hear you are having better luck finding stuff for Kyle to eat! I somehow stumbled upon a site that might be helpful

I am jealous of your trip!! Enjoy it! Rest and Relax. And Go Kroger! I am sure your kids are going to be so "disappointed" that they have to have mac and cheese and pizza while you are gone...
Thanks for the link to SPEWDfree. Looks helpful!
I am so ready for this trip. And the kids took it surprisingly well. Funny how Katie was all weepy over her teacher going on a trip next week but when I told her we were leaving she just asked when we'd be back and said okay. Guess that's the sign of some great babysitters! Thank you Bethany and Amy!
I am so jealous of your trip- lucky you! I don't forsee any trips in our near future. And yah for finding a grocery store that carries what you need for the little guy!
Have fun on your trip, you deserve it!
