My feet are killing me!

Why you ask? Well, it was Bunco night at my house! And apparently our Bunco group has stopped playing Bunco. I honestly cannot remember the last time we played. I think it was January which was what, 4 months ago? And we meet how often??? Monthly. So here's what happened. Tonight it was my turn to host, so I decided to go with a Cinco de Mayo theme. We had the traditional chips and queso, salsa, guacamole (okay, so really just avocado because I was running late and didn't make the guacamole), some tortilla roll-ups that were really yummy, quesadillas, lime-butter shrimp, and then some veggies and fruit. Oh and Key Lime Pie because I figured that tied into the margaritas. Well either my spread was just way too good for everyone to fill up one plate and go sit down or my kitchen is just made for standing around and talking because we stood and stood and stood in the kitchen around the island for 3 1/2 hours. Granted, we didn't have enough people to play the traditional three tables so it wasn't really expected for us to play tonight, but it would have been nice to at least sit down! I hope my guests feet don't hurt as badly as mine do. I would go soak them in the tub but it's a bit late and I don't want to wake anyone.

So it's a been a while (what a week?) since I've posted pictures on here so I thought I better showcase the kids again so you don't forget what they look like. Today they were in rare form. I'm not sure what is going on with Katie this week but she has not been herself. We've been dealing with fits, whining and just plain defiance most of the week. Of course in these pictures she's happy. But I have been having to threaten not to let her go see Meredith this weekend if she keeps it up.

Now Kyle has just been his usual two year old self. His latest reply to most things is, "Not funny!" See the picture below:

This response of course makes me have to turn my head and hide the fact that I'm laughing even more.

Other news of the day is that Amy and I got Katie to try on her flower girl dress for Amy's wedding. It was a fight, but she looked adorable in it. We also tested out (very briefly) a few hairstyles with her tiara. We are hoping that by having her go spend the night with Amy the night before the wedding that she will be more excited about getting dressed up and participating. She doesn't like the dress because it has a black sash. It's beautiful and looks like a miniature version of Amy's dress, but Katie (thanks to her friend Courtney at school) has an aversion to black this season. We also think that by removing Mommy from the equation it might make her a little less apprehensive. We have a little over a month to get her prepared for it. I hope it works!

Lisa,

Those pics are so good of the kids!! With kids that cute I dont imagine its that hard to get good ones.

We had a blast with Derek and the kids at CEC. The girls played games and won tickets while Will and Kyle tried their hand at skee ball. They both just climbed up on the ramp and dropped the balls in the holes. It was cute.

I am so glad you recommended it for the party, it was so much fun.

I'll call you later in the week or talk to you at practice about a time for the 10th.

Fort Thompson looks forward to it, and of course Taylor and Will cant wait to see Katie and Kyle again.

Katie climbed in our Expedition tonight as we were fixing to leave. Her and Taylor are inseperable.

Thanks!

My kids had a great time last night too. I heard that you and Carey had quite the showdown at the basketball hoops.

Have a great weekend!
