Our Holiday Guests

We've had some guests in our house for a few weeks now. They came to celebrate the holidays with us, get some rest and rejuvenate or maybe I should say be transformed. I think a few weeks in our house trying to get rest would be awfully hard, but they were able to do so. The funny thing is that the kids didn't bother them at all, but the cats were sure interested!










Nana provided us with five caterpillars, four of which made the transformation to Monarch butterfly. If you look closely at the picture of the chrysalis, you'll see gold flecks - the first day they were all green and then the gold flecks appeared. Unfortunately we missed them hatching out of the chrysalis because we were out of town. I guess we'll have to pick up a few more in Nana's backyard! This time I think we'll go ahead and put them in the butterfly home that Katie's friend Thomas gave her for her birthday so they have more room!
