Couch Campout
When we returned Friday afternoon from our trip to Dallas, I was heading out the front door to get something out of the car. I felt a blast of HEAT coming from upstairs and asked myself outloud, "Why is the HEAT on?" I went up there to check the thermostat and it was at 88 degrees. I don't think it was even 88 degrees outside! The kids rooms were unbearably hot and after some investigation we figured out that the fan outside wasn't even turning anymore. Derek almost burned himself on the unit. Thank God we have a separate one for the downstairs or we would have been heading into Houston to stay at my parents' house. The strange part is that our bedroom was the coldest room in the house. That has not happened in the 7 1/2 years that we have lived here.
Kyle still sleeps in his crib. He hasn't tried to crawl out so I figure why mess with a good thing? He goes right to sleep and is contained all night long. I loaned my pack and play to Amy since she is keeping twin boys in her house during the week and she was out Friday night so that was not an option. Kyle has slept a few times in a bed in a condo or hotel and we haven't had any problems, but I was still nervous that he would wander the house. So, I decided to push the couch and love seat together to make a somewhat contained bed for the two of them. The novelty of it was so exciting to both of them that it was hard to get them to settle down. Finally they both gave up around 10pm (another late night for them) and they stayed there until morning. It was so cute that I took a picture about an hour after they had fallen asleep. Tucker (the cat) was sleeping on the top of the couch above Katie as though he was watching over them. That was amazing in and of itself since he doesn't really like the kids that much; he just tolerates them.
Unfortunately the camera is not communicating properly with the computer so every time I download the photo it doesn't show up on the computer. So until I can troubleshoot that, there will be no picture.
We did get our a/c fixed on Saturday. It was just the compressor and not the entire unit, thank God! Now if I could just figure out the camera issues.
