Wow - I really have to post just to get that awful picture down a little further!
Our weekend was good. We hosted Kyle's 3rd birthday party on Saturday. We had a few friends and family and I had a few margaritas! I'm very proud of myself that I did not overdo this party...which I usually tend to do! There's a twinge of guilt at not making quite as big a deal out of Kyle's birthday that I have in the past for Katie, but I think the reality of it is that he is 3 and he doesn't know any different AND he had a great time. We got out our little jump house that I bought a few years ago and it was the perfect size for the five kids who were here. We had train sets out for them to play with and they basically had the run of the house. Today was his actual birthday and probably the biggest treat he had was the Katie fell asleep at 6pm (after playing outside with the neighbors for quite a while) so he got to eat dinner with Mommy and Daddy all by himself. We gave him one more cupcake and sang Happy Birthday. Then he sang Happy Birthday to us too! What a sweetie.
Today was a LOOOONNNNGGG day. It was a holiday which was nice because I didn't have to worry about getting Katie to school or getting Kyle down for a nap at a certain time, but for some reason it just seemed long. We didn't get out the door to run our errands until after 11 which was part of the problem. I just had too much going on around the house - balance the checkbook, laundry, pick up toys, take a shower, etc - that we did not get out the door to run our few errands when I would have liked to. So by the time we got to Target and Kroger it was past lunchtime and the natives were getting restless. We got home about 1pm and Kyle ate lunch and then took a nap while Katie watched HSM 2. Once Kyle woke up I was planning to go to the playground for about 45 minutes but we noticed the neighbors out playing down the street so we trekked down there. I'm glad we went, but we were out for much longer than I had planned. Katie had an attitude when we got back so she was sent to her room for 5 minutes where she promptly fell asleep...and has been asleep since. After dinner I realized that I was a bit stressed out from my day so sweet hubby took over the bath/bed duties and I went to work out. I feel great now. I'm so glad that I took the time to exercise. Now if I could just get confident enough to actually run on the treadmill. Why is that so scary to me? I tried to do it and lasted about 10 seconds before I had to slow it back down. I guess I don't really know how fast to pace myself. Any tips would be appreciated. Now that I think about it I think it's scary because when I was in jr high I remember a friend who fell off his parents treadmill and it just sounded awful. Hopefully I can get past this fear because it's just a tad too cold outside for me to go running out there.
